Centre management

The Knucklas & District Community Centre is managed by a committee that meets monthly; the dates are shown on the Events Calendar. Anyone interested in helping or just observing is always welcome.

We are a registered charity, reference number 1096470, whose objects are:

“The property hereby leased (hereinafter called ‘the trust property’) shall be held upon trust for the purposes of a village or community hall for the use of the inhabitants of the community of Knucklas and district in the county of Powys (hereinafter called ‘the area of benefit’) without distinction of political religious or other opinions including use for meetings lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.”

As part of our management responsibilities we have policies on the following: Child protection;  Diversity & Equal Opportunities;  Health & Safety;  Vexatious etc; and  Welsh. (To see these documents you will need a pdf file reader; we recommend the Foxit reader which you can download and install from here.)

The Chairman is Avril Hoyle, Belmont Cottage, Knucklas and the Vice Chairman is John Bowen, Greenhow, Knucklas. The committee includes representatives of the Community Council, user groups and other supporters. The webmaster responsible for this web site is Kevin Jones, 1 Heyope Road, Knucklas. You may contact us via the Contact us page.

The committee, jointly with Beguildy Community Council, is in the process of taking over the ownership of the hall, car park and hard court  from Powys County Council. The playground and field will remain the responsibility of the County.

The recycling containers are provided as a community facility, and the income goes towards the expenses of the Centre.
